Dear students, dear parents, 

Thank you for a wonderful few days in Altleiningen. 

So many unforgettable violin lessons with all our teachers. 

The sun shone all the time and we not only played the violin, but also drummed with Pia Hardt, ran around the ramparts of the old castle walls, played table tennis, danced traditional Hungarian dances with Katalin Szigeti and had a spontaneous concert with solo sonatas and partitas by Bach played by Olga Nodel.

On Saturday, there was an evening concert with music from different countries and, as an appetiser, Bach's A minor violin concerto, with our oldest participants taking the solo part and our teachers and some wonderful additional musicians forming the chamber orchestra. Folk music followed with traditional music from all over Europe and the Middle East. Not to forget the participation of our wonderful parent orchestra under the direction of Ditte Barth.

After a thorough dress rehearsal on Sunday morning, we all made our way to the performance hall in Kindenheim. A beautiful drive through bright yellow fields of rapeseed and surrounding vineyards and a wonderful concert with a large and enthusiastic audience.
